Spelling error and some general suggestions

Post by jx3d »

Hi Daniel

Spelling Error :!:
The title "The Launge" is spelled wrong. It should be "The Lounge"

Your Schedule
Could you post some kind of schedule so we know what happens, and when to be excited for new versions? It doesn't have to be 100% precise, but should be updated each time your schedule change. It would save me a lot of time browsing to find out if new betas are available - Yes, I could subscribe to the feed, and usaly do that, but I tend to subscribe to much more than I can digest, and therefore I often skip most of what I am fed.

Your Now Many Sites
You have a few sites for this project now, and you should update them all with links to each site, and if some sites are not in use, they should be shut down. It is not that easy to find out where the party has moved to... Well, I do... but not all KN users are nerds like me - or are they? :geek:

And last, but not least... thanks for your great work ;)

PRODUCT:[0~5]
:D :D :D :D :D

SUPPORT:[0~5]

Yours Sincerely

Hello Henrik
First, thanks for participating in the forum and for your suggestions. I have moved your topic to this forum because I think it is the correct place for it.

I have corrected the title of the forum, to "The Lounge", thanks.

Actually I can tell you, more or less, in what features I am working or I want to work in, but it extremely difficult to me to give a schedule of when I think the new features will be available. (While I'm writing these lines one of my two little girls, of almost two years old, have just fallen from a kitchen chair --nothing important-- and the other --four years old-- is distracting me all the time...). And my office work leaves me very little free time. :( I have to do a very important effort to make advances in this project. I do it because I enjoy very much with this tool.
Another difficult for me is that a don't have a fluid english, and it takes me much more time than I like to express myself in this language (and sometimes with the help of a free tool: lingoes  )

But, the work is advancing. I have the changes in the alarm management almost finished. :D I'm polishing some details. I have done a redesign of that functionality. As soon as I finished that feature (just a few days) I will prepare a new Beta to let you test it.

You are absolutely right. And I want to simplify that situation. As you can see I'm trying to organize the project in a better way, but some kind of help would be helpful
For now I think that the final scenario will maintain the subversion repository and Issue Tracker in Google Code (although I'm considering MantisBT as an alternative), and for the other things (forum, news, binary releases, wiki, ...) I will use SourceForge. I have discovered recently that SourceForge gives me many opportunities via third party tools, like phpBB (this forum is build under it), MediaWiki (the same tool used by the Wikipedia), MantisBT, etc.
I began with this project in SourceForge, but I had a bad perception of it. Now the site has been improved and besides (and very important) I have discovered that the firewall in my router have been obstructing my navigation with that site, considering that navigation as an intrussion attack  Now that problem is resolved and I can enjoy of SourceForge.net :D

With the File manager of SourceForge I can organize better the binary releases. Specifically I can create a folder for Betas, where you will be able to subscribe yourself (just one more ;) ), so you will be notified of new versions to try.
And last, but not least... thanks for your great work ;)
Thank you very much for your words :P
