Would PAY to use keynote if required [From Issue 230]

Post by dpradov »

From the Issue 230 - Would PAY to use keynote if required in Google Code:
Reported by pbs_info, Nov 29, 2009

I use keynote everyday, it is so useful (I love it!) I would be willing to
pay for it if asked. If all the suggestions I have read in this project
page were to be implemented - it would be a world class application -
seriously there is no other like it! I tried every other similar software
and nothing comes near it. I am so glad it is continuing development; you
have my full support Daniel.

If I could have only one software on my computer it would be KeyNote NF.
So I too would also be willing to pay for this.

That being said, I think the proper way to go is by -optional- donations.
This way it will bring in a bigger user-base and donations will increase.

I really support the above statement. Its an excellent tool, which helps me a lot in
maintaining lot of to-do/status/schedules in one place. I am also ready to support
this project through donations.

I agree! I use it every day to manage source code for a database system.

I love the suggestion in the help files that " If you enjoy using it, please consider
making a small donation to an animal shelter in your area. "

I certainly will make that donation, and any others I can.

I am a tabletop RPG game developer, and I use it to write the first drafts of my games and adventures. It's potential for non-linear narrative it's astounding, and I love it.
I will pay for it (but not too much, as I earn little money, Spanish tabletop gaming industry is small and underdeveloped, at least compared with the American), but prefer it to be for free (as most of my company stuff is given for free in PDF form)...
The Donation option to me is the best, and I would surely donate. :)

But the program is great, and I love to see it improved be it for money or for free... ;)

I have received an email from one of you (KeyNote users), Joe.
Hi,

I've used Keynote for over four years and love it. Moreso, I
appreciate you taking on its development and improvements. Do you
accept Paypal donations as a token of appreciation?

Regards,
Joe (this answer is also for many others that support this development with new ideas, offers like Joe's, or by encouraging and appreciating the effort made), thank you very much for your offer and your words.

Actually I have not prepared nor configured any form of donations, like Paypal. I will do it in SourceForge, but I want to have a little more free time to compensate, to pay back in the form of new improvements to the program. I have dedicated a lot of time in KeyNote NF so far, but it doesn't matter, I would like to appreciate conveniently the potential future donations, and at this very moment I'm not working in KeyNote NF (temporarily) because I'm totally centered in developing a framework to be used at work.

When I have finished it (soon) I will turn again to KeyNote NF and I will be able to dedicate it more time. In fact I left almost finished an improvement related to alarm management, and a new release, 1.7.9. Then I will accept Paypal, not before.

Do you understand me?

Regards
Daniel
