That's exactly what I was thinking.
Some time ago I sent an email to the project maintainer, and received no reply.
I also subscribed to the Keynote mailing list, and asked the same question, and again received no answer.
It seems that the project has been abandoned, unfortunately

However, seeing that so many people have registered at this project, and so many comments and requests have been left by users, I have a feeling that Keynote is far from having been abandoned by the users.

So, supposing that the current maintainer has indeed abandoned the ship (which is still to be confirmed), will someone else take up the job? I really hope so. After all, this is an open-source project, and anyone can work on it, without asking permission.
So many users are waiting for new features to be implemented.

If someone knows the maintainer or can reach him somehow, please ask him about the future of this project.

Long live Keynote!

P.S. a proposal: why don't we make a petition or something for the project to be resumed?

petition is a good idea, how and where do we start?

My love for KeyNote is still the same, and growing bigger and bigger every day. Please keep updating this great software. Thanks so much. (srry for cheesy words :P)
Please, see my comments in Is keynote development still continuing? [From Issue 273]
